Painting Georgia Peaches

'Just Peachy' 5x7 pastel

How could I let the summer get away from me without painting my favorite fruit! I set these peaches up on my desk to paint them. It is really enjoyable to paint form life and I am going to try to do so at least once a week. This painting is done on black Lacarte paper which made it more challenging. They aren't as bright as I usually paint but for some reason I don't mind. I would like to paint them again on different paper to see the difference!

I had a lovely visit to my studio today by an artist who follows my blog. She was in town visiting family and stopped by with her cousin. It was so nice to meet them and talk art.
