Rocks and Moving Water Study

'Mountain Stream' 5x7 pastel
At pastel class we are working on rocks and moving water this session. I had planned to paint a bigger river scene at class but I forgot my easel so I had to paint sitting down. This little rock study was a good exercise to work on. Marsha started a demo with a watercolor underpainting and for homework we are to try our own watercolor underpainting. Hopefully tonight I will have a chance to try my own on Pastelbord.

    Beautiful! I know just where this is and have similar photos. I dare not try to paint them now. They've already been done!
