'Season's End'

Labor Day Weekend is the official end of the season weekend at the New Jersey Shore. So I thought it was a good day to paint this scene. It's the Boardwalk at Wildwood New Jersey. It's an early morning in October. The summer crowds are gone. There are a few people enjoying a morning walk. A few shops are open with end of season sales. The mood is quiet and relaxed. I painted this scene in soft, subtle colors to reflect the quiet mood. I have been on the boardwalk in winter, spring and summer...each season has it's own special qualities. I think I'd like to do a series on the different moods of the boardwalk. Stay tuned!
