Great News! Textbook Cover!

I am very excited to share the news that my Little Blue Heron painting has been chosen by McGraw-Hill to illustrate the cover of their 9th grade Literature series! I knew it was in the running but just got the word that it was chosen! This means a lot to me because it has always been a dream of mine to one day illustrate children's books and this is close! At least it is a step in the right direction.

  2. That is really cool. Congratulations! I tutor at around the 9th grade level, so I'll keep an eye out for these books (unfortunately, I don't tutor in lit).

My goodness, what a rich background on which to place a heron. Congratulations. I am new to pastels, having worked earlier with oils and acrylic. You have showed me a way to mix colors of the background with rubbing alcohol. I can't wait to try it.
