Do you wish you had your own website to share your art? Have you put it off because you thought a website is too expensive and difficult to do yourself? If the answer is YES then I have the answer for you. No more excuses! You can create your own website for free today with Weebly. This is not an advertisement ...just passing on what a student shared with me.
I was introduced to Weebly.com last week by a student. (Thank you T.) She came to me for help with blogging and had just created her website with Weebly. I was so impressed with her site and she told me how simple it was to set up. I had to look into it myself. Now I do have a website and my own domain name but also wanted to see how easy it was so I could share it with you.
I set up a website in under an hour. It truly was easy with drag and drop. I was even able to set up Paypal buttons for my paintings. It was all simple and quick. Have a look at what I created in an hour at www.karenmargulis.weebly.com
- There are many templates to choose from so you can get the look you want.
- I also love the blog option. You can either start your blog on the Weebly platform or link to an existing blog.
- It is Free! I am using the free version which is sufficient for what I want to do. The Pro version is $8 a month from what I can gather.
- What about domain names? You can choose your name but it is followed by weebly.com unless you have your own domain name and go through the process of having it directed to your website. My student didn't have a domain name but was able to purchase one through Weebly. I am not really up on domain pricing so this is an area you will want to investigate further.
I am planning on using this website for my small aceo size paintings. It will be easy for me to add paypal buttons and change them frequently. But if you are looking for a website to display your work, perhaps sell and integrate a blog. Weebly is worth a look. My student now has a very good start on getting her work online and she did it herself! Here is a link if you decide to give it a try.

Here are some reviews of Weebly from cNet
Fantastic information and demonstration Karen! Thanks so much
ReplyDeleteThis is impressive, thanks for the link and info.
ReplyDeleteHi Karen, I use Weebly to create websites for my work (teacher), and find it so intuitive, cheap and easy. My students (elementary level) have created one for our town in Australia. See what they did at www.bungareehistorywalk.com. I would recommend paying to set up your own domain name and getting the Pro features - it's still a bargain.
