I like to paint demos. I really don't mind painting in front of a group and sharing what is going on in my head as a painting develops. I don't mind being interrupted with lots of question. The more the better. Sure not every demo is successful but I always try to make sure that the group learns something. I find that for a shy person I have a lot to say when it comes to talking about my passion.
I have been posting mini demos on my blog for the past two years. But they are condensed versions and don't quite compare to a real live demo. I have been wanting to find a way to share my demos with others without doing a video. I don't have the equipment for that. So when I discovered that Etsy offers sellers the ability to offer digital downloads I thought it would be the perfect way to share a more detailed demo in PDF form.
I put my first digital download mini lesson on painting animal in my Etsy shop a couple of weeks ago. It has been successful and it was fun to put together. I decided I would try to offer a detailed painting demo each month. So after a couple of weeks of work I am pleased to announce my new digital download Demo. This one is on Painting a Very Green Landscape.

Karen, you're willingness to share your knowledge and talent is remarkable. Even though I've never taken a formal class, I feel by following your blog that I have received an indepth education painting with pastels. These digital downloads are my next step! Thank you so much for making them available....by the way, I am about to take my first real class in pastels, taught by Lynn Asselta here in Florida. I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Debra! I really appreciate your kind words. Thank you for following my blog! Lynn is fabulous! I lover her work and I am sure you will learn a lot. Good luck on your journey! And if you do one of my download demos let me know how you like it!
