'Winter Sunrise at Lookout Studio'Here is today's effort. I wanted to do another Southwest painting for my living room so I decided to do this one of the Grand Canyon. We stayed in a rim cabin at the Bright Angel Lodge last January. We woke up early to catch the sunrise and it was one of those subtle sunrises. The clouds were moving in and building for what would be an all day snowstorm. This building is Lookout Studio...a historic building designed by architect Mary Coulter. It is perched on the very edge of the canyon. As you can imagine, the views from this perch are amazing!
