Here is one of my plein air painitngs from Creighton Island. There were the most wonderful palm trees on the island...totally natural and ungroomed. I took many reference photos of these palms for future paintings. I am getting into the 'cruise' mode now with our annual January cruise just a month away. I have to put together a plein air pastel kit to take with me so some Caribbean practice paintings are on my list of things to paint!

Love your palms. Here is a thought for your cruise. My husband bought me a Heilman pastel box in the new small size for my birthday. It is just perfect for traveling. It has a place for a tripod to screw in. It has a great easel bar that fits into it at just the right length for my arms. We were amazed at how many pastels (including the bigger square Ludwigs and Great Americans) fit. I am very happy with it. Don't know how I got along with out it.
