Creighton Island Marsh

'Cabin View Late Afternoon' 5x7 pastel

This is a painting of the view from our cabin on Creighton Island, Georgia. One day just before dinner, the marsh had beautiful warm light...it seemed to glow. I did this little painting from a photo on a recycled Ampersand Pastelbord. I had washed off this board a few times so there wasn't much tooth left and it was stained....I happen to like the moody quality that developed as I painted this.
