Maine Wildflowers

'Edge of the Woods' 10x8 pastel
I don't know what was more spectacular...the wonderful fields of Lupines or this little patch of grass at the edge of the woods that was just exploding with the colors and textures of the wildflowers. I am not sure what the tall purple ones are but they are my new favorites!

I think the purple flowers are purple loosestrife. They're a 'weed', that grows pretty much everywhere up here (I'm in NB, Canada). Here's a link with a picture: http://www.ksda.gov/includes/images/plant_protection/Noxious%20Weeds/PLFlowerClose336.JPG

Love your blog! :)
