Koi Pond Painting

'At the Koi Pond' 8x10 pastel & watercolor
Here is another painting with pastel and watercolor. I thought that the koi would be a perfect subject for the technique I have been playing with. It's hard to know how much watercolor to splash to get the right effect but that is what makes it so much fun! This will be a good subject to experiment with this idea some more.

Karen, this is awesome! I can't wait each day to see what's next. It would be fun to see you post the picture before you splashed on the watercolor ... and you're right, the koi painting is perfect for this technique. You are my inspiration! Nancy B.

Thanks Nancy! I'll have to remember to take some work in progress photos so you can see how it looks at each step. Great idea!

This is an interesting technique. Perfect for these fish and the rain in the previous one. Nifty. (Shows may age to use that word!)

Very nifty indeed! I'm glad I don't have to clean up after all of this spashing and splattering you've been doing Karen but it sure results in some very interesting paintings!

Donna,
Thank you! I've enjoyed playing around. I am really impressed with how the uart paper holds up to all the wetness!
