Challenge Paintings Week 1

I found a way to put all of my challenge paintings into one post. Yeah! I actually have three more new ones but they will be a part of week two. The challenge is to paint the same image 100 times. I am having so much fun with this. It is a great opportunity to experiment with techniques and colors that you might not think to try. It is fun to come up with new ways to interpret this scene and it will be interesting to see what happens after say 50! Each painting is 5x7 and are all on different surfaces.

Wow Karen, that's a real challenge! It's already producing some very interesting work, I can see. I thought I would try working in mini-series of say six of the same subject but 100 is something else!

Hi Karen. This IS truly fascinating! I'm totally intrigued by the idea. Doing this many, all in different ways, in such a short time is nothing short of painting mania. Can't wait to see them all!

WHAT A GREAT CHALLENGE! Best of luck. I look forward to seeing it progress. Who started this challenge? Are many doing it at the same time? I think that doing 10 would be an interesting challenge too.

Karen - these are all great! It's fun to see them all side by side in a single image. I look forward to seeing more here and/or on WC.

great inspirations!

I'd been toying with the idea to do a paintings variations blog to help me drive home some design principles & motivating dedication for the time commitments...

now I really feel I have to *pick* a scene I'd like to do 100x!

I have to know, what were your criteria for picking a scene you'd like to revisit... & do you have any ideas we can expect to see in coming variations?
