Lowcountry Sunset Version #2

'Evening Peace' 8x10 pastel
One photo can inspire many different interpretations of the scene and this is a second version of the sunset I painted last week. For this one I changed the orientation to horizontal and softened the colors. I am working at not relying so heavily on my reference photos. I want to paint from my studies and if I use my photos I want them to provide me with inspiration and ideas.

Gorgeous color. Love the reflections in the water.

I'm on that page! This caught my eye as I love color and while there are many in this jewel they are all absolutely believable! Nice job.

when a painting takes your breath away like the actual God given scene, you know you are looking at a real artist's work. This has happened to me so many times with your paintings. You give me such a gift when you share your work on a daily basis. No matter what kind of day I'm having there is always a bright and delightful moment when I click on Painting My World. Thanks karen.
