Field of Red Flowers

'Carpet of Red' 11x14 pastel
I have been busy in the studio today with a few different projects on the burner. I am working on some acrylic sunflower paintings on one easel. The table is full of monotype supplies and monotypes in various stages. There is a pastel landscape on my big easel and I have two big commissions with finished underpaintings waiting for an empty easel ...oh and then there is my container of beads for some cool wire wrapped wine glasses I am trying. Whew! I am having so much fun!

I accidentally visited your blog and I'm impressed by your paintings! Beautiful colors and great technique! Your work is very inspirational. Best regards, Kiki, Greece:)

I had to laugh when I read about all the pots you have simmering on a multitude of burners. Sounds like you live in a commercial kitchen, and you're clearly a world-class chef! I purchased a painting from you several months ago and set it aside until we moved. Today I unpacked it and can't wait to frame it and hand it up in my own kitchen--I mean studio!

Beautiful work Karen. The painting feels as though it has some energy in it, like the wind is blowing to the right. Nicely done :)
