Late Afternoon on Monhegan Island

I had to steal bits of time to work on this painting but I am finished for now. Of course I will leave it out so I can see if anything sticks out...I really had fun with this one. I have decided that I like working larger so now I need to order more paper! I also decided that I love using the Girault pastels along with my Terry Ludwigs and Great Americans. It's so funny because I have had this photograph on my desk blotter for years and for some reason it wanted to be painted this week! I remember now that on that trip to Maine I shot slide film so that is why I have few photos. I need to see my slides and see if I have any other scenes that speak to me!
