Daily Pastel Painting....Shells

'Yin & Yang' 5x7 pastel

These are two Lightning Whelks from my own shell collection. I have so many shells just waiting to be painted! For this one, I arranged the two shells in some sand from the kid's sand box and had an instant beach! This is painted on blacl LaCarte paper and is a little different for me. I feel it is a bit more graphic than realistic but just for fun, I put in in a frame and it looks cool! Of course, I am partial to shells!
