This little 5x7 painting was done for my Sunday class. Today we talked about landscape painting and aerial perspective. I think that understanding how to achieve aerial perspective was so helpful to me when I was new to painting. This marsh is at the Wetlands Institute in Stone Harbor, NJ. The first landscape I ever painted was a similar scene so I thought it would be an appropriate landscape to demonstrate.

Karen, That's so exciting that your blog has had 50,000 visits! And well deserved too. I love your work. And here I am so excited that my 2-year-old blog is approaching the 2000-visit mark, LOL.
But I certainly enjoy getting the RSS feed to see what you are up to. I really wanted to read the newspaper article about you but the link no longer works. :-(
