As you can see I am not taking Albert Handell's advice to stay away from beaches and birds too seriously! I felt compelled to paint these two quick studies of a couple of my favorite beaches. The top one is Magen's Bay as seen from Mountain Top on St. Thomas USVI. The bottom one is the beach at Blind Pass on Sanibel Island, Florida. I think it would be fun to paint a whole series of beaches from around the United States.
