Field Study Plein Air

'In the Field' 5x7 pastel

One of the areas we liked to paint on Creighton Island was the big field behind our camp. It is very pastoral with huge moss covered live oak trees and cattle and our donkey friends grazing. I chose to focus on this log surrounded by beautifully colored grasses. I didn't have much luck with the trees but I think they might require bigger paper and my biggest paper size was 8x10. I will tackle the trees now that I am home.
