Low Country Marsh...Acrylic!

'Peaceful Morning' 12x16 acrylic on canvas
Christmas seems to have come early for me this year! I wanted to try acrylics so I bought a few tubes and some brushes. I made time today to play with them and painted this marsh scene and another small beach dune scene. It's very interesting to try a new medium. You get so used to your materials and how they work. This really made me think! I do need to figure out a better palette. I had a tray but the mixing area was too small so that was frustrating. I had some trouble with photographing the painting. In real life the colors are warmer. It was a fun experience. If only there were more hours in the day for me to do all that I want to do!

Karen,
Love the painting. If I didn't see you had done this in acrylic, I would have thought pastel. Great job.

Thank you Marsha! I appreciate the comment. Caitlin said the same thing about it looking like pastel. I do want to try for more texture on the next one
