We went today to the High Museum to see the Monet Water lily exhibit. It was a small exhibit but the paintings were Huge!It was interesting to see them closeup. I was most interested in how thick and textured the paint was. Even though Monet intended for them to look spontaneous some of them actually had as many as 15 layers of paint. I can't wait to paint some more waterlilies! This one is 5x7 with a watercolor underpainting.
