'Poppy Surprise' 5x7 pastelSometimes you find beauty where you least expect it. This scene is from the road to my parent's home in the North Carolina mountains. Last summer while visiting them, I went for an early morning walk. I never expected to come across this little patch of poppies on the side of a busy highway. Actually I had my dad throw wildflower seed all along their driveway so I am hopeful for even more wildflowers next summer!
