"Storms over Monument Valley'Here's Today's Painting....I'm calling it my Moody Southwest series. I did a Southwest trip last January and had the moodiest weather! We had clouds, rain, snow...you name it...we experienced it all in a week. I took over 500 photos so I have a lot of reference material to paint! When we got to Monument Valley I was so disappointed that it was cloudy and raining. I was hoping for a Blue-sky day with white puffy clouds...the kind you see in pictures. But I had to make the best of it so I stopped and took some photos. Just then....the clouds started to break up, illuminating the rock formation in the distance. Now that's dramatic light!
