Caribbean Island Sunset

'Island Sunset' 8x14 pastel

My friend Carol and I decided that we'd practice painting clouds this week. I went through my stack of photos and chose this one. I took the reference photo while on a cruise. We were sailing from the island of St. Kitts at sundown and the sky was just magnificent! The island you see is the island of Nevis. I thought this scene lent itself to a tall narrow format. Now I will look for some storm clouds to paint!
