Yellow Star Thistle Painting

By looking at the last three posts it would seem I was on a 'red' kick. I'm not sure why. Here is some yellow for a change! This is a large 'weed' painting at 18x24. It is from a photo on the wet canvas reference image library. I had to look these up and found they are Yellow Star Thistles...considered a noxious weed in the western US. They sure do look interesting though!

This is just gorgeous! I love the spiny forms; they're almost like some kind of alien life that's visiting. Nice, nice work!!
