'Closer In' 8x10 pastelI am excited to share that my painting 'Closer In' won the Pastel Journal's Creative Spark contest for June. It will be featured on this week's Pastel Journal blog and I will share the link as soon as it is posted. You may recognize these flowers from a larger painting I have shown. The challenge was to reinterpret a painting and come up with a fresh idea. I decided to focus in on a few of the flowers and show them how I imagined them from an insect's point of view. What a fun challenge and I am thrilled to have my painting recognized!
