I enjoy painting small. Sometimes when I don't know what I want to paint, I will take out my photos and some 2.5 x 3.5 paper that I keep handy and just do quick studies from the photos. Sometimes they turn out well and sometimes they don't but I always learn from them. They are relaxing to do. You should try them if you haven't had the chance.
