Among the Wildflowers

'Among the Wildflowers' 18x24 pastel
Today's painting is another new Large painting for me. I don't know what has gotten into me lately but I am wanting to paint BIG! You should see my studio....they are all lined up along the wall. The only problem with paintng larger besides using more pastels...is storing the bigger paintings! But I am really enjoying the freedom of working bigger and may do a few more before my run is over! This painting is done on white Wallis with a waterolor underpainting. I took the reference photo up in Blue Ridge Georgia at a stop light. The Queen Anne's Lace was just amazing last summer! It was everywhere!

We must be on the same wave lenghts as I am alsopainting large now and I'm into spring/summer scenes. I think I've had enough of winter.
Love your painting. It's fresh and invigorating. Just what I need to see. Thank You

I'm with you on big. It's so much easier. Small is good for open air studies and daily practice but I don't have any tiny paintings on my wall with more frame than painting. Your painting is the standout of today to my eye.
