'Steps Beach' 8x10 pastelHere is another transformed plein air painting. It was an apple orchard and the dune paths were the dirt roads in between the trees. The sea was the distant line of mountains. I just saw these dunes in the painting and I decided to go with it. I like the results much better than the apple orchard!

I really like the colours in this and the way the sea blends into the horizon, it creates a real sense of distance. Lovely lovely!

I wish I had taken a 'before' phto of the plein air painting before I turned it into dunes!
