August Meadows...a New Queen Annes Lace Painting

'August Meadows' 11x14 pastel
I have had this board prepared for over a month and just have not had the chance to work on it. If you look closely you can see the 'spider webs' of my oil stain underpainting. My goal was to try to have them work for the tangle of grasses and stems in this field. It was the most amazing meadow with Queen Annes Lace as far as the eye could see. They were in various stages of bloom with many starting to form their bird nest like seed heads. I may do a close up of the seed heads which are quite beautiful.
