'Sunflowers on Pink' 8x10 pastel
I had fun with this series of flowers in vases. Next on the easel for me are some more marsh scenes. I just printed a stack of photos and will set up my papers next. I like to get my supplies prepared all at once so when the time and mood strikes to paint...I don't have to spend time deciding what to paint and how I want to start. It's nice to pick up a board with my paper and reference photo attached and just paint.

Hi. Your work is lovely. The softness you capture is very inviting. It's all beautiful.
What paper did you use? Have you made an underpainting for this work? An other beautiful piece. Your choice of color is awesome! I find painting a semi-abstract subjet in pastel, for me, is not easy work, but you did it beautifully! Andree
Thank you Susan! I appreciate your comment!
Thanks Andree! For this one I used Uart paper and I did a value based underpainting with a dark blue hard pastel that I liquified with rubbing alcohol. I like this method because it sets up my values so I can have fun with color!
