Mountain Meadow with Queen Anne's Lace

'Magic Meadow' 11x14 pastel

This painting is the first demo painting I did at yesterday's workshop. I worked on it some more and actually changed the flowers from yellow to these Queen Anne's Lace. The point of the demo was to show how I paint a field or meadow and how I add flowers trying to avoid them looking stiff and unatural. The yellow flowers I had just seemed a bit lost in this big meadow. I found a photo I had taken of a huge field of Queen Anne's Lace and that helped me finish the painting.
