How About Some Poppies

Poppy Demo Painting 5x7 pastel
Another one from last week's workshop....poppies. I was demonstrating how I go about painting wildflowers without getting too precise and fussy. For poppies, I like to use big juicy strokes of pastel. I start with the darks first, then the darker brick reds. I put the brighter and more orangey reds on last. I use Terry Ludwig and Great American pastels for my poppies.
